What you will be doing as a Senior Business Controller
Are you an experienced business controller who gets energy from complex challenges? At Stora Enso – one of the largest producers of corrugated trays and boxes – you’ll have the opportunity to make real impact within an organization that is undergoing major transformation.
As Senior Business Controller, you will primarily focus on the entity De Jong Verpakking’s production location in De Lier, which plays a central role in the operations. However, from time to time, the sister companies within Stora Enso in the Benelux may also require your attention and expertise.
You are responsible for the supply chain, transport, warehousing, and general operations. You translate data into insights that truly make a difference and in this position, you work closely with operations, sales, production, and the logistics department.
- Transport & Supply Chain Controlling. You analyze transport costs, truck occupancy rates, and the use of external storage. How can we plan smarter, load more efficiently, and transport at lower cost – without compromising customer satisfaction?
- Forecasting & Scenario Analysis. You develop rolling forecasts and scenario models, based on growth drivers. You help the organization anticipate instead of reacting.
- Streamlining Reports & Dashboards. The current management information has been expanded and contains a lot of manual work. You understand what is needed for decision-making and work on automating reporting and move toward more efficient and streamlined dashboards in collaboration with the BI team.
- Projects within the Turnaround Plan. The organization is currently implementing an accelerated optimization program focused on pricing, cost structures, and production efficiency. You contribute to this as a content expert and sparring partner for the business.
- Financial Consulting. While your main focus is De Lier, Stora Enso’s sister companies in the Benelux occasionally require consulting or financial advice
You’ll work closely with colleagues in business control, financial control, transactional finance, and BI. The culture at Stora Enso is hands-on, direct, and pragmatic – but there is room for personal growth, initiative, and entrepreneurship.
Who are you?
For this position we are looking for a solid business controller with a natural feeling for production environment and supply chain complexity. Furthermore, you bring:
- A completed bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business administration or accountancy;
- At least 8 years of experience in a similar role within a production company;
- Strong analytical skills, structured working method and feeling for the operation;
- You can work independently, but actively seek cooperation;
- You have good communication skills, are critical and solution-oriented;
- Together with the other two business controllers you bring the position to the level of Business Partnering;
- Fluent in English and a plus (not required) Dutch.
